Who is responsible

What we collect, and why

When you book: your name, email, phone number, dates, number of guests and the amount paid. We use them to take and run your booking, send you your check-in details and keep the accounting records the law requires.

Before arrival: the identity details the law asks us to register for foreign guests (see the booking terms). We use them only for that registration and keep them only as long as the law says: up to one year in Portugal, six months in France.

Payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. For the security deposit, Stripe keeps the card you paid with on file until the deposit is released.

Messages you send us by email or WhatsApp, so we can answer them.

When you visit the site: we count visits, and a cookie of our own called aevi_src remembers for 90 days how you first found us (for example Instagram or Google), so we know which channels lead to bookings. There are no advertising or third-party tracking cookies. You can block cookies in your browser and the site works the same.

We don't send newsletters or marketing emails unless you ask us to.

Who else sees it

Only the services that run the site and your stay, each for that purpose: Stripe (payments), Hospitable (reservations and guest messages), Supabase (our database, in the EU), Vercel (website hosting), Resend (booking emails), Google Workspace (our mailbox) and WhatsApp, if you write to us there. Public authorities receive guest registrations where the law requires it. We never sell your data or use it for advertising.

Some of these providers, such as Stripe and Vercel, may process data in the United States, under the EU's standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep it

Booking and payment records: 10 years, as accounting law requires. Messages: as long as needed for your stay and any follow-up. The aevi_src cookie: 90 days.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, or to receive a copy: write to hello@aevihomes.com and we answer within a month. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the CNPD in Portugal (cnpd.pt) or the CNIL in France (cnil.fr).
